Showcase Award Ceremony (September 20th, 2024)

Entrance Fees

Registration Fee:

• A non-refundable Competition Registration is $50 per registrant – all proceeds go to Markham Arts Council. 
• Semi-Finalists & Finalists will receive Two (2) free priority seating tickets to the Semi-Final shows on June 22nd & 23rd and Two (2) free priority seating tickets.
• Additional show ticket can be purchased at $25 each.

COMPETITOR RULES

1. No age restrictions.  Must be a resident of Ontario to participate. 
2. Talent needs to be able to be performed live on stage (no outdoor stunts). 
3. Semi-Finalist MUST arrived at 10AM for registration on June 22nd, 2024 at Xinflix Auditorium.  Location: Unit 8 421 Bentley St. Markham, On, L3R 9T2
4. Entrants must be prepared to perform on stage for semi-final on June 22nd or 23rd, 2024, in according to the category you applied.  In addition, all finalists must be prepared to perform on stage on September 20th, 2024.
5. Contestants will need to sign publicity waiver for use of image/video in promotion of this year’s and/or future events. Contestants under the age of majority will require parental/guardian consent to perform, as well as publicity waiver. 
6. Those who earn the majority of their living on their talent are ineligible. 
7. With a potential narrowing of the contestants to a final 3 at the competition, contestants should be prepared to perform twice (two different numbers preferred). 
8. As this is a family friendly event – G or PG rated performances only.
9. Profane language, hate messages or inappropriate lyrics or actions that are not suitable for a family audience (as determined by judges) will not be accepted. The judges reserve the right to disqualify any submission containing any of the aforementioned. 
10. Live finalist performances are to be no longer than 4 minutes in length. There will be no penalty for a shorter performance.

ENTRY

To submit an application, complete the online form on our website www.markhamtalent.ca along with an audition video submission of the proposed act to your or your legal guardian’s YouTube or social media channel.

Video submissions should be between 1 minutes (60 seconds) in length.

Deadline for application is June 6th, Thursday at 5pm ET.

May 1st 2023, at 5PM EST.

JUDGING

1. The judging panel will select Semi-Finalists from each category of the audition submissions. 
2. The announcement of the Semi-Finalists from each of the category will be made on Monday, June 10th, 2024, at 5:00 PM ET, on MarkhamTalent.ca website and social media. 
3. The judges’ decision is final. 
4. Scoring will be based on talent, originality, and performance.
